Healing the Voice, Finding Voice Formats That Work For You

Let’s do a little myth-busting around your ‘voice’ today.

So many people believe that all they need to speak powerfully is a public speaking coach or some practice with articulation. But for so many, especially those called to speak about spirituality or topics that push against societal norms, the barriers run deeper.

If you have subconscious blocks around being visible, sharing your truth, or stepping into spaces that make others uncomfortable, speaking techniques will only take you so far.

And I’m saying this because of years of experience working through the same.

I've had to heal issues that have followed me through lifetimes—quite literally, in the form of trauma lodged in my physical body, particularly my esophagus.

Story Time..

In my past lives, I believe I was an orator. Not just an orator, though—an oracle. I can still feel those abilities today, the way I channel information for people, guiding them toward their next step, often sensing what lies ahead for them. It's a gift, but it hasn't come without its challenges.

One of the most painful memories is having my esophagus ripped out as a form of punishment—perhaps to silence me, to keep me from speaking my truth. That trauma followed me here, manifesting physically as the need for surgery on my esophagus right at the solar plexus - known to be the power center chakra.

And I’m telling you this because I know I’m not alone in this. Many women, through history and across lifetimes, have faced violence and suppression for daring to speak up.

From witch trials to modern-day sexism, women’s voices have been systematically shut down. We were denied the right to vote, to control our finances, to make decisions without male oversight. And even now, we are conditioned to be polite, not to seem aggressive, to soften our words, lest we be seen as too much. But in doing so, we often step out of our power.

My journey to reclaim my voice wasn’t just about learning to speak better; it was about healing the deep wounds of suppression that have silenced me before.

I want us all to experience freedom and power that comes from truly using your voice. It’s more than just speaking—it’s about expressing your truth, stepping and showing up while being visible and overcoming the fears or blocks that have held you back.

That’s why, with this newsletter, I have 2 special announcements.

1. In addition to sharing articles with you on Substack, we are starting a TV show.

This vision has been on my mind for a while, and I've finally found the format and network that feels like the perfect fit for me at this moment. My favorite thing is to dive into profound topics with a close-knit group of like-minded people. Even though this show will reach a much broader audience, I want to keep the cozy, intimate feeling, as if we’re just a small group, sipping tea together.

The TV show will feature live weekly sessions where you can join me as we explore different topics around being an entrepreneur on the path of self-actualization. In select episodes, I’ll be inviting members of the Multidimensional Leaders community to join me as co-hosts or guests, adding depth through interviews and collaborative discussions. Stay tuned—details about the premiere episode will be announced soon!

2. I am putting out a call to find voice activists. Whether you are (or can recommend) a:

  • public speaking coach

  • a storytelling expert

  • someone who works with vocal tone

  • or even someone who helps people overcome self-sabotage related to their voice

Get in touch.

This is the first collaborative initiative that I want to spotlight for the Multidimensional Leaders Resource Exchange, and I’m seeking experts who can help people reclaim and fully express their voices, as this topic is near and dear to my heart.

Take the first step to Reclaim Your Voice

Your voice is one of your most powerful tools, but to fully harness it, you need to know the medium that allows you to express it best. For your voice doesn't just mean your speaking voice. It can be any medium you choose to share your message, thoughts, or ideas.

It can be writing

Storytelling

Videos (with or without sound)

Painting

Songs…

Maybe you feel most comfortable hosting a podcast, creating videos, or stepping up as a facilitator or MC.

Whatever it is, what matters is that your message gets across.

The key is to find the format that resonates with you and really amplifies your voice the most.

Let’s take a look at some examples of people who have mastered their chosen formats:

Liz Wilcox found her voice when she built an entire community around RVs using her newsletters. Now, she runs a 6 figure business teaching others how to build connection and community with their own newsletters.

Writers like Elizabeth Gilbert and Robin Sharma have found a way to express their message through their books, impacting so many lives across the globe.

Content creator, ‘‘That Good News Girl,’ focuses on bringing people joy by sharing one piece of ‘good’ news every day. Her unique take on the ‘good’ news is always presented with kindness, joy, and a short, engaging video.

Each of these people have found the medium that allows their voice to shine—and you can too.

When you tap into the right medium for your voice, you’re able to show up as a more holistic leader, bringing smarter and more creative approaches to achieve your goals.

Action step: Today, I want you to find the format that resonates with you the most.

  • What gives you joy and comes easy to you?

  • Do you know which format you excel at?

  • What will let you express yourself fully and authentically?

And more importantly, are you doubling down on it to make the biggest impact?

Much love to you,

Michele

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend the New York Film Festival, where I saw a deeply moving film, Maria, centered around the life of an opera singer. Watching this film made me reflect on how many of us can relate to Maria’s story—whether it's in the act of physically sharing our voice or symbolically sharing our truth.

“We may not all be opera singers, but we each carry our own traumas, challenges, and obstacles when it comes to using our voice. It’s time to start healing them ”
